The adoption ladder adapts Dan Shapiro’s five levels of AI automation, with a separate Level 0 for no established use. The business flow and readiness checks are adaptations, not Shapiro’s scoring method.
Your first three answers describe adoption. Their median sets the indicative level; readiness answers do not inflate it. With fewer than two known adoption answers, we show “Not enough information.” Missing answers are excluded, not scored as zero.
Readiness answers identify practical gaps. Missing data boundaries or review controls take priority; otherwise your weakest areas guide the three actions. A higher automation level is not always the right goal.
